Founded in 2018 by former banker James Mwangi, TruePesa was born from a simple observation: millions of Kenyans earn money but were never taught how to manage it. Schools don't teach personal finance. Banks profit from your ignorance. And mobile lending apps trap the vulnerable in debt cycles.
TruePesa exists to close that gap. We deliver financial education in Swahili and English, using real Kenyan examples — not Western textbook theory. Our free Saturday workshops at Westlands Hub have become the most popular financial literacy events in Nairobi.
